pi-harness: Pi, with you in the loop. Approve what runs, answer what the model would guess, and see what every agent is doing, on any machine of yours.

npm pi SDK

Every piece of pi-harness in one install. Pi asks you before it runs a command, the model asks you instead of guessing, and you see what every agent is doing, in the terminal and on your phone.

pi install npm:@adeildo/pi-harness

A session with the look: the start card, a request, the model running the tests, committing and pushing, then the stopwatch, the card under way, the editor and the cost.
A session: the start card, what you asked, what the model ran, and what it cost.

What comes in it

PieceWhat it does
PermissionPi asks before it runs a command. A small model can answer the easy ones for you
QuestionsThe model asks instead of guessing, with options, a preview of each, and a note on any of them
BoardThe agent keeps a board of what it is doing, what waits on you and what it delivered
LookThe start card, the editor with the branch and the model on its edges, and a box around each command
PeersAgents share rooms, see each other's work and talk
RemoteEvery session of every machine of yours, in a browser and on your phone
ProvidersBills Anthropic requests to your Claude plan, and keeps several accounts per provider
CompactHides old tool output in long sessions, so each request costs less
Skill callsYou call your skills from anywhere in a message, several at once
WebSearch and fetch the web with Nico Bailon's pi-web-access, at a tested version and set up

All of them are on once the package is installed.

[!WARNING] When a request uses an Anthropic OAuth token, Providers tells Anthropic that the request comes from Claude Code. Using a subscription outside Claude Code may break Anthropic's terms. If you do not want that, turn the subscription feature off as shown below. Requests that use an API key go out unchanged.

Turning a piece off

Each piece is its own extension in this package, so pi config can turn off the ones you do not want, for every project or for one. The settings file also has a switch for each feature, and pi reads it on the next /reload:

{ "features": { "subscription": { "enabled": false } } }

The feature ids are permission, look, subscription, accounts, questions, skills, names, board, board-panel, compact, peers, remote and web.

If you only want one piece, install its own package instead. When you install both, the copy that loads first runs the feature and the other one stays off.

The board

The agent keeps a board of what it is doing, what waits on you and what it delivered. Alt+T opens it over the whole screen, a column for each stage and a box for each card. Other agents read the same board, so they know what yours is doing without asking it.

The session's board over the whole screen, titled Board, with 4 open, 1 waiting and 1 done on the right of the top edge. Four columns side by side, each with its mark, name and count: Doing, In review, To do and Done. Every card is a box: one being done, its PR number and what it is on, chosen with an accent border; one in review with who reviews it; two to do, one in the warning color with a flag and what it waits on from you; one done with what it delivered. At the foot the backlog with its titles and the last decision. Along the bottom: move, open, close.
Alt+T: the session's board, a column per stage and a box per card.

How the board works covers what counts as a card, the columns and limits, where the board shows up, and how it is stored.

Settings

Alt+S opens the settings of every piece. They are stored in ~/.pi/agent/extensions/pi-harness/settings.json, and each piece's page lists its own. A setting marked project can also be set in .pi/extensions/pi-harness/settings.json inside a project that pi trusts, and the project's value wins.

关于 @adeildo/pi-harness 的常见问题

@adeildo/pi-harness 是什么?

Every adeildo Pi extension in one install: the permission dialog, the look, the providers, the questions, the skill calls, the session board and the context pruning. Each is its own extension, so pi config turns one off.

如何安装 @adeildo/pi-harness?

在项目目录运行 npm install @adeildo/pi-harness,或使用 pnpm add / yarn add / bun add。它还需要宿主项目提供 peer 依赖:@earendil-works/pi-ai(*)、@earendil-works/pi-tui(*)、@earendil-works/pi-coding-agent(*)。npm 7 及以上与 pnpm 8 及以上默认会自动安装必需的 peer 依赖,Yarn 需要手动安装。

@adeildo/pi-harness 支持 TypeScript 吗?

该包的 package.json 没有声明类型入口。
