@ai-matrx/chat
The one AI Matrx person ↔ agent chat. (For person ↔ person threads, use
@ai-matrx/messaging.)
One chat, one renderer. The package is the whole chat (running agents, conversations, tool calls,
streaming, context, surfaces, voice) as explicit per-module subpaths (exactly the modules in scripts/public-modules.json; the published map writes them with patterns that expose nothing else) over a host contract whose only required
value is a db.
Install
pnpm add @ai-matrx/chat
Peers: react, react-dom, react-redux, @reduxjs/toolkit, next (optional).
Mount it
A new host imports only the front door:
import { configureChat } from "@ai-matrx/chat/host";
import { ChatProvider } from "@ai-matrx/chat/host/react";
import { ChatNewClient } from "@ai-matrx/chat/agents/components/chat/ChatNewClient";
import { ChatConversationRoom } from "@ai-matrx/chat/agents/components/chat/ChatConversationRoom";
A host with no database of its own supplies a conversation source instead
(AgentConversationColumn + useHostConversation; see src/host/ and the canary's HostSource).
What was removed
The old kernel entries (@ai-matrx/chat, /external-store, /matrx, /react, /tools,
styles.css, tokens.css) and /cx-conversation/* no longer exist. Import the module you need from
@ai-matrx/chat/<domain>/<path>; see FEATURE.md.
