aVenture CLI

Read aVenture research data on private companies, founders, investors, funding rounds, and news in your terminal or a shell script. The package installs one command, aventure. It works on a free account: sign up.

Install and Sign In

Requires Node.js 24.18.0 or later.

1. Install the package:

   npm install --global @aventurevc/aventure-cli
   

2. Sign in with your aVenture account:

   aventure auth login
   

   aventure auth login opens your browser to sign in and waits while you approve. Over SSH or in a container, it prints a sign-in URL and a one-time code to approve on any device; --no-browser forces that mode.

3. Confirm it works:

   aventure entities lookup-exact get --url https://stripe.com
   

For CI and other non-interactive environments, create a key in API key settings and provide it in the AUTH_TOKEN environment variable from your secret manager.

Paste this into Claude Code, Codex, ChatGPT, or any assistant that can run terminal commands:

Set up the aVenture CLI for me. Install it with
`npm install --global @aventurevc/aventure-cli` (it needs Node.js 24.18.0 or
later), then run `aventure auth login` so I can approve the sign-in in my browser (if no
browser opens, show me the sign-in link and code it prints). When I'm signed in, run `aventure entities lookup-exact get --url https://stripe.com` to confirm it
works. Use `aventure --help` to find other commands.

• AI Plus ($49/mo or $490/yr): plain-English questions, including competitor, provider, and investor-activity questions, with no daily cap; 30 company and 30 person research requests, 500 company and 500 person profile views, 200 web searches, and 5,000 brand lookups a month; saved lists; unlimited search results; industry briefs.
• AI Pro ($199/mo or $1,999/yr): plain-English questions with no daily cap; 270 company and 270 person research requests, 5,000 company and 5,000 person profile views, 1,000 web searches, and 50,000 brand lookups a month.

Find a Company

Find a company by name, website, or description (daily limits: Free vs. Paid):

aventure lookup-from-file --name Stripe                   # by name

aventure search --query "payments infrastructure for online businesses"  # by description

Add --location or --context to tell companies with the same name apart:

aventure lookup-from-file --name Mercury --context "banking for startups" --location "San Francisco"

After the free plan's daily searches and lookups run out, it still finds a company by its website with aventure entities lookup-exact get --url https://stripe.com or by keyword with aventure entities search --text-search Stripe.

Find a Person

Find a person by name or description (daily limits: Free vs. Paid):

aventure lookup-from-file --kind PERSON --name "Patrick Collison" --context "Stripe co-founder"

Go Deeper on a Record

A lookup returns the record's id. Use it to read the full profile and what is attached to it:

aventure entities get --entity-id <id>
aventure entities fundraise-rounds list --entity-id <id>
aventure people get --person-id <id>

Plans and Usage

Profile views, web searches, and research requests count toward your plan's monthly allowance. When one runs out, the command stops with a message that says which limit you reached and how to upgrade.

• --text (terminal default), --data (JSON, default when piped), and --json (full envelope) choose the output. Exit code 0 means success, 1 failure.
